Embedded Linux Poll #3 ends soon — Vote now!

Feb 15, 2000 — by Rick Lehrbaum — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

PALO ALTO, CA. — the third poll in the LinuxDevices.com “Embedded Linux Polls” series is now in process. The poll asks: “Which Linux distribution(s) will you use?” Users and prospective users of Linux in embedded applications are encouraged to participate in the poll, which is found at www.linuxdevices.com/polls/.

The poll asks embedded Linux developers to answer these four questions:

  1. Which Linux distribution(s) have you already used in an embedded application?
  2. Which Linux distribution(s) are you most likely to use in your next embedded project?
  3. Which factor(s) will have the greatest influence on your choice?
  4. Would you consider paying for Linux development/support services?
The poll continues through February 15, after which the results will be available online.

The LinuxDevices.com Embedded Linux Polls track specifics of the embedded applications, developer preferences for tools and support, and other aspects of the rapidly emerging use of Linux in embedded applications. LinuxDevices.com invites companies and developers in the embedded Linux market to email suggested questions for future Embedded Linux Polls to [email protected]

Through these ongoing polls, LinuxDevices.com will measure and characterize current and future preferences and trends of embedded system developers. Like Linux itself, the polls data collected will be fully available for all to review following the conclusion of each weekly poll. Previous polls were on the topics:

  • Why use Linux in embedded applications?
  • Please describe your embedded application.
