Embedded market research firm VDC taps veteran analyst
Sep 13, 2006 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsVDC has forged a partnership with First Technology Inc. (FTI) and FTI's principal analyst, Paul Zorfass. The collaboration with Zorfass, who once served as executive director of the Computer Research division of the Yankee Group, will enhance the depth and breadth of VDC's embedded market research, VDC says.
According to VDC, Zorfass and FTI are experienced in analyzing the business, technical, and commercial requirements associated with embedded technology adoption in the telecom, networking, industrial-automation, defense/aerospace, and automotive markets. FTI's clients have included major embedded component vendors, IT multinationals, electronics OEMs, and government agencies.
Eric Heikkila, director of VDC's Embedded Hardware & Systems Practice, stated, “We are extremely excited to have Paul working with us on a number of projects. Between them, Paul and Eric Gulliksen know just about every product development, marketing and sales manager and executive in the embedded market. But more importantly, they know how to get to the OEM and integrator communities that are specifying and buying embedded technologies. That is where we will be focusing much of our research and publishing energies.”
Zorfass will be working on a VDC team headed by Heikkila and Eric Gulliksen.
