PC/104 module-vendor Micro/sys is shipping a new tool designed specifically to ease the task of separating PC/104 embedded computer modules from each other, and from application baseboards. The PC/104 Extractor Tool (PET) greatly reduces the risk of bent, broken, or otherwise damaged connector pins, the company says.

How PC/104 modules stack

Micro/sys's PET is constructed of high-strength steel, and finished in corrosion-resistant black zinc oxide. The lightweight plier measures less than five inches long, yet fits large or small hands comfortably, the company says.

Embedded system developers have been known to stack as many as 10 PC/104 and PC/104-Plus modules in a stack, so tools like this are certainly welcome in such cases.

Availability

PET is available now, priced at $35 in single quantities, with significant volume discounts available, Micro/sys says.
