Fathammer tunes X-Forge game engine for StrongARM

San Jose, CA — (press release excerpt) — Fathammer today announced it is optimizing its X-Forge video game engine for the Intel StrongARM SA-1110 processor and the Intel XScale microarchitecture, utilizing the Intel Integrated Performance Primitives (IPP). Fathammer's X-Forge supports multiple mobile operating systems, including those from Microsoft and Symbian as well as mobile Linux.

The X-Forge engine provides game developers with the ability to deliver high frame rate, console-quality 3D games with low memory footprint on a wide variety of PDAs, smartphones and handheld game devices.

In addition to IPP, which is a set of software services for enabling highly optimized wireless technologies, Fathammer is working with Intel to help define additional optimized software primitives that assist game technologies like X-Forge in taking advantage of the advanced multimedia capabilities of Intel processors. Use of the software primitives will enable the X-Forge game engine to achieve significantly increased frame rates and add rich graphic features on the Intel StrongARM SA-1110 processor and Intel XScale microarchitecture.

Fathammer's X-Forge gaming technology and suite of supporting tools allows game developers to create original titles and bring existing properties to multiple mobile platforms.
