Mtn. View, CA — (PR excerpt) — Catapult Communications Corp. today announced the immediate availability of LANCE, an entry-level, Linux-based system for testing VoIP, 3G and other types of telecom networks. Based on Catapult's DCT2000 digital communications test system, LANCE is Catapult's first telecom test system to utilize the Linux operating system.

Running on a PC platform, LANCE is an economical test platform that meets the challenges of design and feature verification, interoperability testing, and installation and acceptance testing. LANCE is a single-user test system that provides a graphical user interface for developing a wide range of multi-call and multi-protocol test applications.

A variety of “ready-to-run” LANCE systems are available with selected protocol software pre-installed by Catapult. Alternatively, users can purchase protocol test modules from Catapult's extensive DCT2000 software
library to meet their specific needs. LANCE supports a variety of network interface cards, including Ethernet, OC-3/1, E1/T1 and CII.
