The Odessa, Ukraine office will focus on “embedded systems, real-time, and Linux development,” according to the company, providing hardware and software services initially to a “leading European automotive electronics” provider.
Luxoft also keeps a development office in the Ukrainian capital city of Kiev, which it opened one year ago. The new Odessa office will be run by Michael and Vladimir Dianov, twin brothers who also run Luxoft's Kiev office.
Vladimir stated, “The Odessa office team will work with our first major client in the automotive industry space, build an anchor account in the growing embedded systems outsourcing arena, and serve as a showcase for Luxoft's ability to offer near-shore specialty teams.”
Luxoft was founded in 2000, and is headquartered in Moscow. It keeps branch sales offices in Seattle, New York, and London, along with development shops in St. Petersburg, Dubna, and Omsk.
Luxoft employs about 1,600, reported 2006 gross revenues of $65M, and boasts of several ISO quality assurance certifications. Its clients include Areva, Boeing, Dell, IBM, Thomson, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Caterpillar, and the U.S. Department of Energy, it says.
