Socorro, NM — (press release excerpt) — Finite State Machine Labs and AstonLinux (of Korea) have announced plans to integrate RTLinux into CodeMaker, an embedded Linux software development tool from AstonLinux. The two companies simulaneously announced a Korean market distribution agreement for RTLinux.

RTLinux is a hard real-time kernel that runs Linux or NetBSD in its spare time. CodeMaker from AstonLinux allows embedded system developers to create embedded Linux systems on the Windows platform. When RTLinux features are integrated in CodeMaker, it will be simpler and faster for companies to develop and port real-time applications. Aston and FSMLabs are aiming at all areas of the real-time OS market in Korea, including Internet infrastructure, factory automation, and communication devices.

In addition to the development tool CodeMaker, AstonLinux provides client engineering services to create fast and reliable embedded Linux systems for hardware development and its time-to-market. As a leading embedded Linux company in Korea, AstonLinux customers in Korea include Internet set-top-box manufacturers, communications device makers and board manufactures.
