Geode EPIC SBC available in compact enclosure

The Hurricane-LX800 is based on a 500 MHz AMD Geode LX processor, and is available in a compact, rugged enclosure. It supports embedded Linux, among other OSes, according to the company.

The Hurricane's 500 MHz Geode LX processor delivers high processing performance with very low power consumption, according to Lippert. The Geode-based SBC uses AMD's CS5536 I/O companion chip along with an ITE8712 “super I/O” chip to provide standard PC-compatible peripheral interfaces. The built-in graphics controller supports up to 1920 x 1440 VGA resolution. In addition, the board integrates eight channels of 8-bit analog input, plus a high-speed, 8-bit input port aimed at video capture applications.
