IDE enables OSGi app development

ProSyst announced an update to the company's integrated development environment (IDE) for developing Java-based applications that implement OSGi services. The latest version of mBedded Builder (v5.1) provides an entirely new GUI builder and CVS client, and also includes enhancements in the debugger, profiler, code editor, and dynamic… plug-in management functions, as well as in the overall OSGi compatibility, the company said.

According to ProSyst, mBedded Builder is a pure Java IDE, which is platform independent and therefore able to run on a variety of operating systems (including Linux) and JVMs. Version 5.1 adds various wizards and supports deployment and remote administration of “OSGI bundles” on any OSGi framework. The debugger and profiler allow detection of hard-to-find errors and optimize the runtime performance of applications running on both remote and local hosts, the company said.
