Aug 23, 2006 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 2 viewsA real-time (RTAI-based) embedded Linux distribution targeting industrial applications has changed its name. Cavallini describes KaeilOS 2.4.0 as “a complete development environment” that includes tested, validated 2.6.15 and 2.4.31 kernels and BSPs (board support packages) for Kontron and Taskit modules. It also includes an IDE (integrated development environment), and debugging instruments for embedded and real-time systems. Support documentation is available in English or Italian.
Cavallini stated, “We can also add more value to our product integrating it with software customization, embedded system integration, kernel device drivers development, bootloaders customization, X11 and graphic drivers, and cross platform software development and porting. With a minimum expense, you can get a KaeilOS [implementation] for your board, and a document certifying what is working and what is not. After that, you will know your exact requirements, and Koan will be able to offer you only the missing drivers or components.”
Availability
KaeilOS 2.4.0 is available now for x86, ARM, and PowerPC, priced at 300 Euros for a “standard basic toolkit.” Pricing was not disclosed for optional extras, which include a year of support, consulting and training days, and board certification services.
