InHand Linux completely supports all of InHand's StrongARM-based reference platforms and will support future XScale-based platforms as well. InHand Linux is based on version 2.4.7 of the Linux kernel and is available for InHand's Development Platforms, including those based on Elf, Elf2, and Fingertip.
“Interest in Linux as an operating system solution for our platforms has been very strong, as evidenced by the community of users already working with Linux on our platforms,” said Andrew Girson, InHand's CEO. “By aggregating the efforts of this existing group of users and adding in our own development efforts, we are now able to provide a rich and fully-supported Linux solution, directly targeted at the high-performance, low-power handheld device market.”
Development Platform pricing starts at $3000 and includes reference platform hardware, a CD with a complete Linux offering, documentation, and 180 days of technical support. Customers with paid-up support for InHand's embedded software packages are eligible for free upgrades to InHand Linux.
