BlueGiga has announced a small, intelligent Bluetooth module aimed at embedded systems and device manufacturers. The module, which is based on Cambridge Silicon Radio's (CSR) BlueCore2 chipset, was designed to simplify the addition of BlueTooth wireless data transfer support in a broad range of applications. It has a working range of one hundred meters and is capable of handling both data and sound/voice.

Expected uses of the module include transportation and logistics applications, handheld and industrial computers, industrial instruments, bar-code readers, and 3G mobile telephone accessories.

BlueGiga's WRAP THOR module is available for immediate delivery, and is supported by detailed software interface information, reference designs, and optional design services.
