Sharp is reportedly offering a version of its Linux-based clamshell PDA with a 6GB hard drive. Other than a larger drive, the SL-C3200 appears to add few new features, according to a brief but scathing write-up at Akihabara News that calls the Zaurus an “oversized dictionary.”

The new SL-C3200 closely resembles… Sharp's older SL-C3100 model (pictured above), which came with a 4GB hard drive. The top-of-the-line Zaurus still lacks built-in Bluetooth or WiFi, according to Akihabara News.

Like the older Zaurus SL-C3100, new SL-C3200 targets Japanese students learning English. Both Zaurus models come with English tutorial software aimed at improving test scores on the Educational Testing Service's TOEIC (test of English for international communication). However, Akihibara News disparages the value of this test, suggesting that better English skills actually result in lower TOEIC scores.
