Sep 3, 2002 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsSan Jose, CA — Jungo today announced the availability of Version 5.20 of its driver development suite. In this latest release, Jungo adds support for the Windows Driver Model (WDM) and provides Plug-and-Play and Power Management events handling, for enabling both improved control of hardware devices, and better integration with the operating system. Other new features include support for 64-bit data transfer on x86 platforms running 32-bit operating systems, and an API for the PLX Technology PCI 9656 64-bit I/O Accelerator chip. Additional enhancements include WinDriver and KernelDriver API support for multiple interface USB devices, dual processor, SMP support on Linux, and scatter/gather DMA support on Linux 2.4.
WinDriver and KernelDriver are driver development tools that simplify the development of device drivers for USB / PCI / CompactPCI / ISA / ISAPnP and EISA custom hardware under Windows 95 / 98 / Me / NT / 2000 / XP, Windows CE, Linux, Solaris and VxWorks. The tools feature graphical development environments, APIs, diagnostic and debug utilities and samples, and eliminate the need for both kernel and DDK knowledge.
