Linux in industry: GSM Base stations remote monitoring

Ultra d.o.o. used embedded Linux to realize a 70 percent cost reduction in its remote monitoring system for GSM base stations. The PC/104-based systems enable remote dial-up or Internet access, replacing a less functional desktop PC. The system uses modularized hardware and software components, and brings new capacities for remote diagnostics and upgrades, according to Ultra.
