Linux IP-PBX software stack wins telephony show award

FaceCorp's FacetPhone aims to replace traditional business phone systems with standards-based software that can run on commodity hardware.
According to FacetCorp, FacetPhone utilizes external media gateways in a flexible, scalable, robust, and modular architecture. Features are said to include branch office integration, presence management, visual voice mail and unified messaging, IVR flexibility, graphical customer administration, multi-party conferencing, and telecommuter support. The FacetPhone architecture is illustrated below.

The Internet Telephony Best of Show awards were awarded to innovative products with large feature sets, as well as forward-looking products expected to aid in the development of the next-generation VoIP networks. A complete list of all 27 Best of Show winners from the conference is available here, and will also appear in the December issue of Internet Telephony magazine.

Another Internet Telephony Conference and Expo is scheduled for February 22-25 in Miami, Florida.
