Linux sets its sights on the PDA market

LinuxDevices.com's Rick Lehrbaum takes a look at recent developments in both PDAs based on Linux, and Linux distro's for PDAs. Lehrbaum writes . . .

“In the last week alone, there have been two major announcements of new Embedded Linux support for PDAs and other handheld personal computing devices. The most recent such news came from Trolltech, creator of the well known Qt graphical user interface (GUI) toolkit that forms the basis of the popular KDE Linux windowing environment. Trolltech's announcement followed within two days of a similar announcement by Century Software, the commercial distributor of the open source Microwindows 'mini' windowing/GUI environment for Linux.”
