Linux web tablet gains router bundle options
Apr 10, 2006 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsNokia is offering European customers the option of purchasing LinkSys wireless routers along with its Linux-based 770 Internet tablet. The company's “Go Wireless at Home” promotion offers a choice between four LinkSys router models, including versions with extended throughput,… range, and built-in ADSL gateways.
The most basic bundle includes a LinkSys WRT54GS router, which runs VxWorks but has sufficient memory resources to support an upgrade to Linux, since it is the “Speed Booster” model. A more expensive option includes a LinkSys SRX (“speed and range expansion”) router (depicted at right). Additionally, versions of the Speed Booster and SRX routers with built-in ADSL gateways are also available.
More details are available on Nokia's direct sales page.
