LinuxDevices.com fires up new webserver

Oct 23, 2001 — by Rick Lehrbaum — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

Hey everyone. I thought you'd like to know that we have just begun using a brand new server. It's powered by dual 1GHz Pentium III processors with redundant Ultra SCSI II drives — running Linux/Apache (naturally!). The system is located at Hurricane Electric in Fremont, CA. The numeric urls (e.g. http://216.218.185.154/news/) will disappear in several days, once the new DNS values propagate through the Internet. I think you'll find a major improvement in performance, especially searches. Please let us know if anything malfunctions — things that didn't already malfunction, that is ;)

By the way, thanks for being part of the LinuxDevices.com community!

Best regards,
Rick Lehrbaum
