LinuxLinks.com launches Linux Reviews project

Mar 13, 2000 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

LinuxLinks.com would like to announce a new Linux project – Linux Reviews.

A few years ago Linux newcomers had, in some ways, an easy time — if they wanted a web browser, email client or editor they downloaded Netscape, Elm and Emacs respectively. The situation has changed dramatically nowadays with the newcomer presented with a huge feast of software to download; LinuxLinks.com alone lists over 6,200 Linux software packages. With this amount of software to try the Linux newcomer faces a bewildering choice of software to choose from. This is where Linux Reviews steps in.

Linux Reviews is a major project which provides short capsule reviews for Linux software with the intention of providing sufficient information to help the Linux newcomer choose great software.

Linux Reviews is located at www.firstlinux.com/reviews/

As with any Linux project its success rests in part with the Linux community. If you would like to submit a review of a software package, currently not reviewed, please click the “Add review” link at the page above and complete the form. It would be great for experienced Linux users to contribute reviews of Linux software; a perfect way to promote Linux!
