Boston, MA — (press release excerpt) — In response to growing global demand for IDG's LinuxWorld Conference & Expo, the company today announced it will launch a new show in Ireland this November, followed by an expanded schedule of international 2002 event dates. LinuxWorld has become the premiere event for buyers and sellers, supporters, investors and enthusiasts of Linux and open source solutions.

Ireland's first LinuxWorld Conference & Expo is scheduled to take place November 23-24 in Dublin.

“The rapid expansion and global interest in the LinuxWorld events can be attributed to the community of loyal open source supporters — and to the growing acceptance of Linux as a mature, cost-effective operating system by public and private sectors worldwide,” said Kelly Conlin, IDG president and CEO. “The overwhelming response to IDG's LinuxWorld events demonstrates that this technology has truly come of age. For the past three years, our Linux events have been opening to packed audiences and sold-out exhibition halls.”
