LynxOS now supports SBS PPC- and x86- based boards

San Jose, CA — (press release excerpt) — LynuxWorks, Inc., and SBS Technologies, Inc. today announced the availability of LynuxWorks' real-time operating system (RTOS), LynxOS, for SBS' PowerPC and Intel X86 board product lines. SBS Technologies, Inc. embedded processor boards target a diverse range of industries, including telecommunications, military, aerospace and industrial automation.

The combined LynxOS and SBS boards will be used for commercial-, industrial-, and military-grade applications. SBS developed the LynxOS ports and will make the board support packages available to customers. LynuxWorks has a long history of technology leadership, and LynxOS has been a popular choice among embedded developers for more than thirteen years. Known for its hard real-time response, stability, advanced networking capabilities, and open standard interfaces, LynxOS provides the full determinism and reliability necessary for mission-critical and real-time embedded applications.
