MiniGUI project founder joins Bluepoint Linux R and D Center

The center, which is located in the HaiDian District, China's “Silicon Valley,” will specialize in embedded Linux application development, marketing, and customer training.
Wei, a former faculty member of China's Tsinhua University, is the founder and main contributor of the MiniGUI project. MiniGUI is a small footprint multi-window GUI with a Win32-like API, for use in Linux based embedded systems. Under Wei's direction, the Bluepoint Beijing Research and Development Center is developing an embedded Internet browser and an embedded graphical user interface library.
Bluepoint Linux Software claims that its Bluepoint distribution is the first “true Chinese” version of Linux and that it holds an 80 percent share of the “bundling” market in China. The company is focused on providing Linux platform technology and embedded Linux system solutions in the Chinese market and is currently developing an embedded Linux based Intelligent Housing system as well as Linux based set-top boxes and thin clients.
