Mistral Software announced a program of engineering and support services for companies needing to develop products incorporating TI's OMAP system-on-chip (SOC) processors.

As an independent OMAP Technology Center (OTC), Mistral said it plans to offer drivers and board support packages (BSPs) for TI's Innovator Development Kit for the OMAP processors (pictured at left) as part of its Accelerator Program. Mistral said its drivers and BSPs currently target Linux and VxWorks embedded operating systems, and support for iTRON, Nucleus, and Symbian will be added by the end of this year. The company also plans to will offer customized hardware and software design services and Web-based training in support of TI's OMAP processors.

TI's OMAP processors are meant for high-performance, power efficient, multimedia-enhanced applications including industry-specific PDAs, Web pads, telematics, enhanced gaming, medical instrumentation, and point-of-sale terminals, according to Mistral.
