MMI starter kit gains embedded Linux support
Oct 28, 2003 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 17 viewsDisplay and interface specialist Ultratronik has added Linux tool chain support to its Ultratronic Man-Machine-Interface (MMI) Concept, and now includes an embedded Linux operating system with its MMI Starter Kit, which it claims can enable fast implementations of operator terminals based on CompactFlash and I2C-Bus technology.
Ultratronik's MMI Starter Kit consists of a baseboard electronic assembly based on a UMC VR4181A MIPS RISC architecture microprocessor along with Ethernet and other communication interfaces, a 6.5-inch display (e.g. NL6448BC20-08E) with touchscreen, and an embedded Linux operating system. Additionally, Ultratronik offers support for users of its MMI Starter Kit wishing to develop applications using a tool chain based on the Linux 2.4.18 kernel.
Ultratronik will display its MMI Starter Kit in hall 8, booth 8-618 at the SPS/IPC/Drives show November 25-27, 2003 in Nuremberg.
