MontaVista adds biz dev VP, notes embedded Linux market growth

Wheatley will head up the company's business development strategy and initiatives, the company said.
Prior to joining MontaVista, Wheatley held positions as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Documentum Inc.; senior management consultant at Kappa East; Vice President of Marketing at Objective Systems Integrators; Director of Alliances at Sybase; and various management positions at Digital Equipment Corp.
According to MontaVista, a recent research report from Venture Development Corporation (VDC) forcasted a 20% annual growth rate over the next five years for global shipments of embedded Linux operating systems, add-on components, and related services, and reported that more than 20% of all embedded Linux projects currently under development are based on MontaVista Linux.
