Sunnyvale, CA — (press release exerpt) — MontaVista Software Inc. today announced the one hundredth member of the MontaVista Partnering Program: PointBase, Inc., maker of a Java-based database management software.

The MontaVista Partnering Program gives customers and prospects access to a world-class group of hardware and software providers who have embraced MontaVista Linux. With a wide variety of partners to choose from, the program is dedicated to offering solutions to customer challenges.

“As developers start migrating to Linux and building advanced next-generation products, they are demanding sophisticated software solutions built on a range of hardware platforms that combine functionality and take advantage of new technologies, in a cost-effective manner,” said Stephen Balacco, embedded systems research analyst at Venture Development Corporation. “MontaVista has clearly demonstrated the knack of partnering with the companies with a complementary set of cutting-edge technologies that address these specific customer needs.”

Besides PointBase, the program includes hardware manufacturers like Alchemy Semiconductor, Force Computers, IBM, Intel, MIPS Technologies, Motorola, and RadiSys, and software companies like GoAhead Software, IONA, Solid Information Technology and TimesTen Performance Software.
