Ft. Lauderdale, FL — (press release excerpt) — Metro Link, Inc. and Sigma Designs, Inc. have announced a strategic agreement whereby Metro Link will provide customer integration services for set-top boxes utilizing the new Sigma Designs EM8400 MPEG decoder chips. Metro Link will also be developing drivers and a multimedia package for Sigma Designs MPEG-2/DVD decoder, which is optimized for streaming… video applications.

As part of the strategic relationship, Metro Link will also add support for Sigma Design chips and boards into their Metro-X product running on a variety of operating systems. Sigma Designs is launching their NetStream Console with Metro Link's Metro-Media multimedia software and the Linux operating system at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Convention April 23-26 in Las Vegas.
