The Lineo Embedix Board Development Kit (BDK) is available for OEMs developing embedded Linux solutions on the PowerPC 405GP development system. The Lineo Embedix BDK provides support for the feature-rich board that is part of the embedded 4xx offerings.
The IBM PowerPC 405GP is a 32-bit RISC processor offering high performance and a rich peripheral mix for a wide variety of networked embedded applications. As an IBM Blue Logic superstructure, it provides an excellent platform for developing custom system-on-chip devices.
The Lineo Embedix BDK is a complete development environment for configuring, customizing, and deploying Linux-based embedded solutions while enabling the customer to edit source, make, debug, and deploy a target image. The PowerPC 405GP BDK allows a developer to install and have success with the Embedix operating system and basic networking functionality in less than 15 minutes. Specific configuration documentation for the PowerPC 405GP is included to help ensure project success.
The Lineo Embedix BDK is an entry-level software development program for the complete creation and deployment of an embedded Linux target image. Lineo's more advanced system development environment, the Lineo Embedix SDK 2.0, includes all BDK features plus third party application modules, library reduction technology (LIPO), and graphical configuration, and debugging (Target Wizard).
