San Jose, CA — (press release excerpt) — Cleanscape Software International announced today an upgrade to Cleanscape XTC-1750A, a C programming language cross-development environment for embedded systems using the MIL-STD-1750A processor. New features include ANSI prototype support, Linux operability, and the bundling of lintPlus, Cleanscape's static source code analyzer.

Cleanscape XTC-1750A is targeted at embedded systems designers of aerospace and military applications specifying MIL-STD-1750A radiation-hardened processors who want to transition from legacy languages to the C language.

“Legacy languages like Ada and Jovial force 1750A developers to draw from a diminishing pool of resources, talent, and tools,” said Cleanscape president and CEO Ted Batha. “By allowing MIL-STD-1750A developers to transition from legacy languages, Cleanscape XTC-1750A helps them tap a much larger pool of programming resources. This helps boost product quality and team efficiency, while reducing development costs.”

“Our main reason for choosing Cleanscape XTC-1750A was that we could find software designers who were experts in the C language more quickly than we would find designers who were proficient in ADA,” said Darrel Decker, Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. principal software engineer. “The toolset was essential to our successful completion of a custom data command and telemetry control processor we built for NASA spacecraft. It enabled us to complete our design and meet our delivery schedule.”

The Cleanscape XTC-1750A toolset includes a C compiler, an assembler, a linker, a librarian, and other utilities that help engineers to automatically convert code to various binary formats and upload code to different target systems. As part of a special promotion to announce the upgrade, the company is also bundling its leading static source code analyzer, Cleanscape lintPlus, with Cleanscape XTC-1750A.

About the MIL-STD-1750A Processor
