NXTV embeds Opera’s Linux browser in set-top box for luxury hotels

Los Angeles, CA and Oslo, Norway — (press release excerpt) — NXTV, Inc. and Opera Software ASA today announced that Opera will be included in NXTV's digital set-top boxes. Opera will provide full Internet access to guests using the digital broadband interactive television services in America's most luxurious hotels. By including full Internet access in their [Linux-based] set-top box, NXTV is opening up new revenue channels for the hospitality industry. Opera will provide a complete, full-featured Web browsing experience on television via an easy-to-use, intuitive interface that will keep customers coming back for more.
