Outsourcing comes out at ESC

Schacker formerly served as VP of marketing at Wind River, and founded ESP together with Jim Ritchie, former Wind River business development director.
Schacker identifies five key reasons why he believes companies are looking for outside help building embedded devices:
- The open source movement
- Technology commoditization
- Declining margins
- Fewer engineers
- Globalization
