Santa Ana, CA — (press release excerpt) — REDSonic, Inc. today announced its partnership with Red Flag Software Co., Ltd., a prominent Linux vendor in China. Under the terms of this agreement, REDSonic's real-time Linux technology will be distributed in China by Red Flag. By joining forces, the companies plan to bring sophisticated real-time Linux builder tools to the growing real-time and embedded… Linux environment in China.

The REDSonic components that Red Flag will be distributing are REDICE-Linux, an innovative real-time Linux kernel, RED-Builder, a tool for configuring, building, downloading, and remotely debugging target images to the application platform, and RED-Probe, a tool for monitoring the real-time system. “The builder tools offered by REDSonic are the most functional we've seen in the industry,” commented Bo Liu, CEO at Red Flag.

REDSonic's expertise in the embedded market was also a deciding factor in Red Flag's decision. “The embedded market in China is experiencing rapid growth and we see it as a huge opportunity. To have a major share in the market, we need a company that understands real-time Linux technology,” stated Liu.

The alliance is a milestone development for REDSonic because of the entry of REDSonic technology into China. “With this agreement, we are not only sharing our technology with a larger audience, but more importantly, we are doing so in China,” commented Dr. Kwei-Jay Lin, CEO at REDSonic. “REDSonic gains an advantage in that we now have a distribution channel in the single most important market region in the world,” said Lin.
