Magic4 claims its messaging suite is used by five of the top seven handset vendors, and 35 vendors worldwide. The company says it provides EMS, MMS, IM, Video, SyncML, and email applications for GSM, CDMA, 2.5G, and 3G networks.

Magic4 cites the openness of Linux, its reliability, and its support for advanced features behind the decision to support the open source operating system. Openness, in particular, is a strength in markets where terminal manufacturers seek visibility for their software solutions, the company says.

"Thanks to the Magic4 mobile messaging suite architecture, our products are easy to embed into all environments,” says Simon Wilkinson, CEO, Magic4. “Magic4 now has the widest number of environments available onto which its leading mobile messaging suite can be integrated.”
