Ottawa, CANADA — (press release excerpt) — In response to the thousands of developers who wish to write or port commercial applications for the fast-growing QNX community, QNX Software Systems today launched the new QNX Developer Alliance program. The new Developer Alliance Program is designed specifically for developers creating software that runs on the QNX realtime platform.

Upon joining the program (at a cost of $249 US), developers receive a commercial license to develop and sell applications that run on the QNX realtime platform. They also receive introductory support and a discount on training. In addition, members can take advantage of a variety of services including free web listings and a new QNX library on Tucows–to promote and distribute their products. Developers can apply for membership in the Developer Alliance program online, here. Developers are also invited to submit desktop applications, drivers, games, web browsers, media players, utilities — whatever may be of interest to the QNX community. Developers who wish to bundle QNX technology with their products should contact a local QNX sales office for licensing information.

Freeware developers, who don't require a commercial license to create QNX freeware applications, can also submit their applications to Tucows. The Tucows submit center can be found here.
