Ready-to-use Java stack supports Embedded Linux apps

Seattle, WA — (press release excerpt) — DevelopOnline Corporation announced that it will soon provide its online developers with the first online, ready-to-use integrated software stack for wireless and other embedded applications. Comprised of products from three companies, and hosted by DevelopOnline on its open hardware platforms, the new solution includes Insignia Solutions' Jeode EVM environment… for executing the Java applications code; ProSyst's mBedded Server for delivering and managing of Java applications; and the Clue Browser from NetClue for enabling small footprint systems to have Internet viewing capabilities.

The ready-to-use software stack provides a well-integrated framework for wireless system developers. A developer can lease the hardware platform fully integrated with an operating system, libraries and the stack to try it or “test drive” it. When a developer decides to use the solution stack, he/she can download the stack to a workstation for $5795.00 US for a
three-month development license, which is about 25 percent of what the non-integrated software building blocks would cost. Developers can then focus on top-layer applications development without having to worry about the hassles and headaches associated with integrating different products prior to beginning real applications development. Once the developer has the code developed, he/she may again lease the hardware platform for uploading the code for execution and testing.
