Rebel.com (Ottawa, Canada) has selected Transmeta's Crusoe processor family as the CPU platform for a future line of Linux-based residential and small business gateways in its NetWinder OfficeServer product line.

Michael Mansfield, president of Rebel.com said “what we are announcing today is that we intend to utilize Transmeta's Crusoe processor family for a family of residential and small business gateway products. Rebel.com selected Crusoe based on a number of factors, including its ability to work in a small fanless enclosure, its low power consumption, its high performance and its compatibility with industry standards. These are very important strengths of Transmeta's Crusoe processor family which differentiated it from other processor architectures we evaluated.”

Based in Ottawa, Canada, Rebel.com is a provider of business networking technology and solutions and the manufacturer and supplier of the NetWinder line of Internet server appliances.
