Red Hat announces four free webcasts for February

Updated Feb. 19, 2002 Red Hat has announced four free webcasts during the month of February. Two are new: Enterprise Systems Management, Linux Scheduler Latency; and two popular webcasts are being repeated: Solaris to Red Hat Linux Migration, and Total Cost of Ownership.

  • Linux vs. UNIX: An IDC Study Comparing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) — Feb. 13 or 27 — A joint IDC/Red… Hat web briefing detailing the results of the newly completed IDC study comparing the total cost of ownership (TCO) of Linux on the Intel platform versus Unix on RISC based systems. Speakers: Michael Tiemann, Red Hat CTO; Al Gillen, IDC Research Manager, System Software.

  • Linux Scheduler Latency: The Red Hat approachNote: Rescheduled to March 6 — If you are building a device that requires a response time of less than 2 milliseconds and thought that Embedded Linux wasn't a good solution, think again.
