Red Hat Japan collaborates on Linux PDA project

Tony Smith of the Register reports that Red Hat's Japanese subsidiary has signed a deal to market and sell a new Linux GUI aimed at PDAs and other mobile devices. The GUI, says Smith, was developed by Japanese software developer AXE as part of a Linux port to Sharp's Zaurus PDA.

LinuxDevices.com contacted Red Hat regarding this story and was told “this is a partnership between Red Hat Japan, AXE, and 10-art-ni to port Linux to Sharp's PDA. Although the partnership between these three companies was announced, there are no specific activities on this type of development yet” said the Red Hat spokesperson.
