Rugged automation box PC supports Core Duo
Oct 13, 2009 — by Eric Brown — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 7 viewsKontron announced a fanless, Mini-ITX-based box PC that supports Intel Celeron or Core Duo CPUs and consumes 37 Watts. The Kontron Concept Box 751 offers three gigabit Ethernet ports, six USB 2.0 ports, four serial ports, a 2.5-inch HDD bay, and an IEEE1394 Firewire port, says the company.
The Concept Box 751 is designed for challenging industrial environments, as well as medical, transportation, or digital signage applications, says Kontron. The 2.9 x 9.8 x 10.2 automation PC is the first of Kontron's Concept Box embedded computers to be "based on a standard product." Presumably, the latter refers to the 986LCD-M/mITX Mini-ITX motherboard (pictured below).
