Rugged industrial PC powered by Atom
Jun 25, 2009 — by Eric Brown — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 5 viewsAxiomtek announced what appears to be its first “eBox” industrial computer to run on an Intel Atom. The compact, fanless eBOX620-831-FL is equipped with an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU and 945GSE Express chipset, offers multiple I/O, and boasts a rugged housing and extended temperature support.
The eBOX620-831-FL's aluminum housing measures only 7.9 x 4.7 x 2.2 inches, compared to 9.0 x 7.2 x 5.5 inches for Axiomtek's recent eBOX639-840-FL, which runs on either an Intel Core 2 Duo or Celeron processor. Touted for its low power consumption, noiseless operation, graphic capability, and resistance to vibration and shock, the eBOX620-831-FL is targeted at industrial automation, digital signage, gaming systems, and vehicle applications, says the company.
