SIMPL project moves to new home

Aug 14, 2001 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

Bob Findlay, of the SIMPL project, provided this announcement of project status . . .

The SIMPL project, which aims to bring Send/Receive/Reply (QNX style) messaging to Linux developers, now has a sourceforge.net presence. The project which is currently at version 1.4.10, provides an LGPL'd static library (14k) or a dynamic library. When linked against this library, a Linux process can do QNX style messaging to other local Linux processes or to nonlocal Linux processes on a TCP/IP network.

Example code is freely available for connecting SIMPL enabled processes to JAVA or Tcl/Tk processes or applets.

There is always more that can be done, and the SIMPL project welcomes new participants novice or experienced alike.

Visit the SIMPL project at its SourceForge project page.
