Software quality suite adds Eclipse plug-in
May 9, 2007 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 1 viewsCoverity has added a free Eclipse plug-in to its “Prevent” SQS (software quality system). “Coverity Prevent Desktop for Eclipse” lets developers test code on their desktop before checking it into project-wide Prevent installations for nightly build and analysis.
As an Eclipse plug-in, Prevent Desktop lets developers discover and fix errors within the same dashboard, according to the company. The tool is free to Prevent customers for use on an unlimited number of development seats.
Coverity said its Prevent suite checks all software paths and dependencies, and can scale to tens of millions of lines of code. The Desktop Plugin is said to offer fast analysis of local source code, and to support multiple test runs throughout the workday.
In other news, Coverity announced that its Prevent SQS for Java product is now supported by Structure101, a “structural analysis and architectural control” tool from Headway. Future versions of Structure101 will also support C/C++ development, Coverity said.
Availability
Coverity Prevent Desktop is available now at no cost to Prevent customers.
