SnapGear reports that they have recently completed porting uClinux to the Motorola ColdFire MCF5282 processor, after working closely with Motorola to complete the port. The MCF5282 port is based around the uClinux patches to the 2.4 Linux kernel.

“The MCF5282 is a great processor for industrial control applications, and uClinux is an obvious choice for developers because of the standard Linux API and royalty-free nature of open source,” noted SnapGear chief software wizard, Greg Ungerer.

The source code for the MCF5282 uClinux port is available from the uClinux CVS repository.
