World’s first Embedded Linux magazine

The new print publication, titled Embedded Linux Journal, will debut in January 2001.
Embedded Linux Journal's content will focus on the use of Linux and other Open Source software to increase efficiency, economy and stability in embedded design and development. “Linux has earned a reputation of a sophisticated and powerful technology available at a lower cost, and because of that, the embedded market has come to embrace the OS,” said Phil Hughes, President of SSC and Publisher of Linux Journal. A founder of the open-source movement, Hughes will act as Publisher of Embedded Linux Journal.
Embedded Linux Journal will launch as a bi-monthly publication with a direct-request, controlled circulation. Free subscriptions will be targeted at qualified professionals living in North America, working in the embedded industry.
