X Window System maintainer Metro Link nets $5.6M funding

Metro Link, a software development company founded in 1989, specializes in graphical display technology solutions for Linux, UNIX, and embedded operating systems. Metro Link is also the official maintainer of the X Window System.
According Metro Link officials, the company hopes to experience sequential quarterly growth in excess of 100% growing to more than $10 million in annualized revenue by the third quarter of 2001 making the company a standout in the Linux and embedded markets. Company officials added that the cash infusion will bolster research and development, sales and marketing, and working capital.
