Digi International is shipping a component-like embedded computer module that integrates an XScale PXA270 processor along with an extensive set of peripheral interfaces. The ConnectCore XP supports Linux and Windows CE, and targets both fixed and mobile applications that require display, networking, security, and audio/video… processing, according to the company.

According to Digi, the ConnectCore XP's 3.3VDC voltage input and low power consumption make it well suited for battery operated devices. The module is used like a macrocomponent — all peripheral interfaces appear on two 100-pin connectors, X1 and X2. A baseboard, included with the module's development kit, assists developers in evaluating the module and designing it into devices.
