SECURITY ALERT: NFS VULNERABILITY
If you administer a Linux system — any Linux system — please take a moment to update your nfs-common or nfs-utils package! The default installation on some Linux systems may be vulnerable to an exploit involving the rpc.statd daemon. CERT reports that crackers are using this exploit now to install denial of service attack tools similar to those used last February to bring down ZDNet and six other major 'Net sites: story.
