Sharp aims SAP partnership at sale of 500,000 Linux PDAs

Reuters news service reports that Sharp Electronics and SAP AG, a maker of collaborative business application software, are partnering to give mobile corporate users remote access to SAP's business software apps using Sharp's Linux-based Zaurus PDAs. The alliance is the first such partnership for SAP with a mobile hardware manufacturer, the story said. (more…)

EC funds project to promote Open Source in embedded systems

Metrowerks rolls OpenPDA toolkit for Mot’s DragonBall i.MX1

OSDL adds Andrew Morton, Linux kernel maintainer, to its resources

The Open Source Development Lab (OSDL) announced today that Linux kernel maintainer Andrew Morton will work for the lab under an agreement between Digeo Inc. (Morton's employer) and OSDL. Morton will be focused exclusively on the 2.6 kernel during its maintenance cycle, the Lab said. (more…)

New scripting language for Qt-based apps

Trolltech unveiled a new scripting language for Qt-based applications. Embedded Linux supports multimedia-oriented Katana system-on-chip
