Commercial IP stack targets Linux-based networking devices
December 9, 2003Lvl7 Systems announced that its Fastpath commercial IP software stack for Layer 2, 3, and 4 Ethernet products is now available fully integrated with Linux and VxWorks operating systems. Lvl7 says its Fastpath software supports PowerPC, MIPS, and ARM CPU architectures, and is suitable for Ethernet switching, metro, and access products. (more…)
Lineo Solutions (Japan) has released a uLinux Consumer Electronics Edition (CE Edition) Board Support Package (BSP) for the VIA EPIA-ME6000, an inexpensive and widely available mini-ITX motherboard.
Wasabi Systems announced its port of Wasabi Certified NetBSD to the Intel IXP425 network processor, on Intel's IXP425 evaluation platform. Wasabi says this represents the first availability of certified NetBSD support for the IXP425.
Arabella Software announced the release of Linux device drivers for the Motorola MPC184 and MPC185 security processors. The company says it also offers ongoing support for the new CryptoAPI interface, a standardized API for security processors in the 2.6 Linux kernel.
The world's largest provider of telecommunications and cable network test equipment has announced that it used MontaVista Software's embedded Linux in its latest product. Acterna says it turned to embedded Linux because the proprietary embedded OS used in its older products no longer met scalability requirements.
